ONLINE SESSION. SEPARATE WORK STREAMS
Today's session was held remotely via ZOOM.
During the second half of the zoom session, we split up the teams into 4 streams:
· Innovation Project: Expert Interview led - Olivia, Larry
· Innovation Project: Develop Skit - Daniel, Leon
· Core Values Q&A - Jason, Reina
· Robot Design Plan - Wanying, Brandon
Based on previous season’s Questions found online, the Core Value team prepared a few answers and presented it to the team
Describe the toughest challenge your team faced and how you overcame it.
The toughest is the coding part, we have to make robot go to the correct position and finish the task.
Of all the things your team accomplished, what are you most proud of?
We are proud of that we have got most of the missions done. Finish all the attachment and coding them to work.
How did your coach help you this season?
Coach Will and Coach Ben helped us discover the ways to complete the missions, encouraging us to explore new ideas and innovation projects.
How did you resolve any conflicts or disagreements that your team had?
We include everyone’s ideas and vote for the one most people agree on.
Would you still do FLL even if there were no awards? Why?
I will still do it at least we will have lots of fun building lego together.
(Daniel) I would still do FLL because it's all about having fun. For example, we had fun during the robot game at the competition
How would you describe your team?
Helping, Caring, Loud, Funny, and Inspiring
What were your team goals this season?
Finish all the missions under the time limit and making a spectacular presentation.
What does Gracious Professionalism mean to you?
The opposite of being mean, and good sportsmanship.
How do you all know each other, and how did the team get together?
We all knew each other because some of us were from our soccer team, some of us were from our Chinese school, and some of us we were just friends. But we all like Lego, so we make a good team.
What happens if a team member is not getting his/her job done?
we will help them accomplish their challenges by working together.
How do you make someone feel valued when you talk to them?
we could answer when they ask something to you, focusing on the speaker, and talking to them nicely.
What’s the most important thing you learned this season?
(Daniel) The most important thing we learned this season is teamwork because if we didn't have teamwork then we wouldn't have any good ideas.
The Robot Design Team prepared a slide highlighting key areas of the robot design:
Brandon worked with Coach Will on finalizing and testing the “Chicken-Printer-Stage” Attachment. It looks very promising, assuming things go the way planned, which they rarely do.
