Innovation Project: Ask The ExpertS
Innovation Project: Ask The ExpertS
Today, each team member was tasked to present their 'ask the expert' approaches within a 1-2 minute timeslot in front of the team. Our innovation project is 'use art and technology to get the parents off the phone and read more'. The kids present their case to an expert such as an author, librarian, and other experts in the field.
The coaches took the presentation as an opportunity to give feedback to each of the 8 team member which included.
More Intonation, not too stiff, no hand-fidgeting
Look at the audience, hand gestures
Look at the audience, be prepared with printed out notes (number pages)
Hand fidgeting, no 'uh' and 'ah''s
Hand fidgeting, flow, memorize key aspects
Don't speak too fast
Stand still, look at audience, slow down
Don't forget the script
After each member mentioned a few experts, we could ask, the homework for next week is to reach out to the experts:
Wanying: JK Rowling - Letter + email
Leon: Allan Zullo (Author 10 True Tales), and Mary Pope Osborn (Magic Treehouse Author) - letter + email
Olivia: Librarian in the family, we can setup virtual call
Daniel: School librarian, give 3 weekend options for virtual call
Larry: Allan Gratz - Author of 2 degrees and ground zero
