Today's session started with the Innovation Project, where Brandon and Wanying presented their sandbox designs simulating an archaeological dig site. Wanying used a large fish tank, which provided excellent visibility into the dirt-formed dig site at the bottom, where Lego archaeologists were at work.
Brandon's experiment featured a translucent plastic box with four solid walls to protect his Lego archaeologists. He filled his sandbox with sand from a nearby river and suggested that a larger, more transparent box would enhance the experiment.
Following the presentations, the team split into two groups. Coach Ben led one group focused on the Innovation Project, and Coach Will led the other, which concentrated on Robot Design. Both groups discussed how to initiate their presentations and approach each detailed subject.
Launch Testing
Upon reconvening, the teams enthusiastically discussed how to divide into launch teams. Leon initially took the lead in grouping the team, and Olivia later finalized the grouping decision, forming three two-person teams.
Over the next 30 minutes, these teams took turns testing out launches. With frequent changes of launchers, the process appeared fun and busy, though somewhat confusing. More tests and error analysis will certainly be needed.
Even though we were busy and working hard, we didn’t forget to have fun!
