This week, the High Block Lego Robotics team gathered once again at Coach Ben’s house for a focused and productive team meeting. With the FLL (FIRST LEGO League) season in full swing, the team is pushing forward on both the Innovation Project and Robot Design tracks.
Before diving into the main agenda, Coach Ben shared an exciting update—he’s currently remodeling the basement specifically for the Lego team! Once finished, it will serve as a dedicated space for the team to collaborate, build, and brainstorm. Everyone is looking forward to seeing the new space come together!
The team spent a good portion of the meeting reviewing the Innovation Project, which focuses on developing innovative sandbags that could be more effective. Team members shared some research they found about current sandbag limitations. Everyone contributed ideas, and a solid direction for the prototype was agreed upon.
Preparing to present your ideas quickly and effectively is crucial. The team took time to discuss and brainstorm how to structure their elevator pitch. All asked some great questions about how to hook the audience in the first 10 seconds. They had a great idea for a quick demo to include during the pitch. They plan to polish and rehearse this pitch in the coming weeks.
To wrap up, the team reviewed and finalized a To-Do List to keep everyone on track.
After a focused and productive session, the team took a break to enjoy a quick game of football in the yard before heading home. It was a great way to blow off some steam and enjoy the time together.
