Diving Deep: Innovations in Our Ocean Explore Session
Diving Deep: Innovations in Our Ocean Explore Session
Showcasing Oceanic Solutions
The Explore Team kicked off the session by presenting their latest research on ocean life and team models.
Haoyang: He presented insights on how sea creatures swim at various ocean depths. For example, he explained that animals need swim bladders to help them move efficiently and air bubbles to maintain buoyancy.
Wesley: He demonstrated a versatile LEGO robot designed to catch fish hiding behind obstacles. Equipped with three powerful drills and one sharp middle drill, the robot can drill through solid rock to reach the fish.
Max: Showcased his enhanced motorized cutter/slicer designed to cut through seaweed and detangle underwater debris.
Ava: She revealed her well-structured underwater lab, featuring blue windows and interior decorations. Notably, the lab is now powered by a Spike Prime system with a color sensor for added functionality.
Alina: Proposed improvements and new designs for the fish safe house, suggesting it be located around the sunlight and twilight zones for optimal protection.
Team Model Updates
The team also reviewed their ongoing projects and the changes made since the last session:
1. Submarine: Now equipped with a motorized slicer and pincher.
2. Vessel: Upgraded with remote control and a light show feature when arriving at the lab.
3. Seaweed Farm: Now divided into a seaweed factory and seaweed farm, designed to cut and harvest seaweed in the sunlight zone.
4. Multilayered Fish Safe House: Set to be remodeled and positioned between the sunlight and twilight zones.
5. Lab: Enhanced with light and music features, with a control center located in the twilight zone.
Game Design & Activities
The team split into smaller teams to focus on the following tasks:
Ian: Worked on motorizing the submarine.
Ava and Alina: Collaborated on skit presentations.
Haoyang, Max, and Wesley: Focused on game design elements.
