Team Model Update
At today's core values presentation, Ian kicked off the session by sharing a personal story about a fruit mix and cake he made, which received high praise from his brother and dad. This wasn’t just about a successful recipe, but also creativity, experimentation, and the joy of sharing achievements with loved ones.
Haoyang’s presentation focused on sustainability, discussing how reusing plastic bags and opting for reusable mesh bags can help protect our planet. His commitment to making small changes for the betterment of the Earth was both inspiring and a reminder of the impact of our daily choices.
Ava talked about her experience with an expander in her mouth, which she needs to make space for new teeth. This has led her to a discovery—part of our core values—that singing has become more challenging. Her openness to share this personal change highlights the importance of adaptability and resilience in the face of new experiences.
Alina brought in a fun and team-oriented story, sharing how her family filmed a video of her jumping into a pool with her cousins at her cousins' house. This simple act was more than just a splash—it represented teamwork, creativity, and the joy of collaboration.
Wesley shared his enthusiasm for playing a homemade 3D LEGO puzzle with his brother. This activity wasn’t just about solving a puzzle; it was about teamwork, problem-solving, and the joy of creating something new with a loved one.
Max recounted an exciting experience he had while visiting Xi’an in China, where he was given a parrot that mimicked his words. This story highlighted the wonder of discovery and the connection we can form with the world around us, even with creatures that can surprise us with their abilities.
After sharing these personal stories, the team transitioned into the next phase of the day—coding and building. The energy and inspiration from the earlier presentations carried over into the projects, resulting in a wave of creativity and teamwork.
Alina took the lead on building an underwater base designed to hold submarines, combining innovation with a deep-sea adventure theme. Wesley and Haoyang teamed up to experiment with coding Spike Prime using motors and a pressure sensor, showcasing their ability to collaborate and push the boundaries of their technical skills. Ian created an ocean-themed game, diving into the world of digital design and storytelling. Max added motors and wheels to the submarine to make it drivable, and then worked to operate the submarine while turning its propeller—a perfect example of engineering. Ava continued her work on building a seaweed farm and feeding station that extends towards the ocean’s surface, blending creativity with environmental consciousness.
