Assigning Roles & Polishing Presentations
We’ve put together a powerhouse lineup, each member ready to step into new and exciting roles for the competition. The goal? To gain fresh experiences, showcase our diverse talents, and support each other every step of the way. Here’s the breakdown of our team’s strong lineup:
Outreach Ambassadors: Leon
Giveaways Leader: Olivia
Presentation Materials Director: Reina
Robot Keeper: Brandon
Rulebook Experts (2x): Wanying, Jason
Game Callers (2x): Daniel, Larry
We’ve crafted a strong script packed with great content, and now it’s time to level up and make our presentation even more stand-out! We’re pushing ourselves to go from good to great, using these powerful guidelines to polish every word and make our delivery shine:
Checklist for Reviewing Script
Key Message:
Question: If you can only say one sentence to the judges, what would it be?
Action: Make sure this key message is highlighted and consider adding it early in the script.
Crisp and Clear Paragraphs:
Question: What do you want to tell the judges in each paragraph? Is the message clear and crisp?
Action: Confirm that each paragraph starts with a topic sentence covering what you are saying in this paragraph.
Logical Flow:
Question: Does the script follow a logical order? For instance, if you mention “first,” is there a “second” or a “next” to follow?
Action: Check that the sequence of ideas is logical and transitions smoothly.
Core Values:
Question: Have you incorporated the team’s core values into the script?
Action: Make sure there are references to core values throughout, since they won’t have a separate opportunity to present this.
Organization & Relevance:
Question: Is the content well-organized, grouping similar topics together?
Action: Ensure the script is focused and cohesive. Adjust as needed to eliminate unnecessary or repetitive content.
Relevance & Cutting:
Question: Is every sentence relevant to the main message? Ask yourself, do the judges need to know this.
Action: Eliminate unnecessary or repetitive content.
