Starting with presentation prep
It's time to refining and perfecting the team's presentation scripts! The team poured in hours, crafting thoughtful content, practicing their delivery, and helping each other polish every line and transition.
Today, we gathered for a peer-review session, offering constructive feedback and supporting each other in enhancing the overall presentation. Everyone’s hard work shone through, and the team left the session feeling more prepared and motivated than ever.
Here's a breakdown of what we accomplished, where we’re focusing, and the areas we'll continue refining in the coming days:
1. Content Development
The team’s presentation scripts are packed with content that showcases our project’s story, innovations, and achievements. Each member needs to tailor their section to be clear, informative, and exciting for the judges. We're proud of the ideas and insights we've included and confident it’ll resonate.
Next Steps:
Review script to make sure we cover all the key poitns but not repeating each other.
Finalize each script to ensure smooth transitions between sections.
Incorporate feedback to make each topic easy to understand for those hearing it for the first time.
2. Body Language and Confidence Building
A great presentation goes beyond words—it’s about connecting with the audience. Team members are practicing posture, gestures, and expressions to project confidence and keep the audience engaged. We’re focusing on moving naturally, maintaining eye contact, and staying calm under pressure.
Next Steps:
More practice sessions in front of the team to get feedback on body language and overall stage presence.
3. Voice and Tone
Clarity, tone, and volume are crucial for a powerful presentation. Today, team members received feedback on how to make their voices resonate more—whether by adding a pause for emphasis, speaking a bit louder, or using tone to reflect enthusiasm and conviction.
Next Steps:
Continue to practice speaking louder and adjust voice projection and pacing.
Practice varying tones to avoid sounding monotone and keep the audience’s attention.
4. Handling Questions with Confidence
We anticipate that judges may have follow-up questions, so today, the team brainstormed potential questions and discussed effective answers. This helps ensure everyone can respond confidently and stay composed.
Next Steps:
Encourage team members to answer questions in different ways, giving them the flexibility to handle unexpected questions.
5. Adding Real-Life Examples and Details
The team’s story becomes more relatable with real-life examples, so we’re making sure to include specific details, personal experiences, and core values to give the presentation a more authentic feel. These touches make our project come alive for the judges and emphasize the impact of our work.
Next Steps:
Each team member will identify one or two real-life examples to weave into their sections.
Practice delivering these examples naturally and incorporate core values.
Our competition is 6 weeks away! We are in the count down mode!
