Core Value Poster Design, Continued Ocean Farming Research, and Robot Skills Review

As summer wraps up, team is honing in on the key elements we want to showcase at the competitions. Today's meeting is dedicated to brainstorming Core Value Poster Design, continued Ocean Farming research, and reviewing robot skills.

Core Value Poster Design

Team members presented their designs for the Core Value Posters, sparking a meaningful discussion: what is our most valued core value, and how do we present it in a way that the audience can easily understand and remember? The consensus was clear: positive community initiatives best embody our core values. Examples include picking up trash, donating food, and helping children in the community learn STEAM.

The team also disccussed excellent ideas about measuring impact, such as tracking the pounds of trash picked up or the number of families helped through food donations. This reflection led to an important lesson: less is more. Displaying multiple photos doesn't necessarily convey our core values or the actions we take to uphold them.

Throughout the process, everyone provided valuable feedback on each other's designs and posed engaging questions, fostering a collaborative and insightful environment.

Continued Ocean Farming Research

Team members continued with their ocean farming research. Wanying presented her research around seaweed farming. 

Review Basic Robot Skills

With more and more members coming back from vacations, Coach Will brings everyone up to speed by starting reviewing the basic robot skills: Spin, Pivot, and Arc. Team jumped in to show the robot movement with their own body! 

Fun fact: Reina said "Turn" is just like a ballerina!

Robot Building and Attachment Testing

Counting down to the season's official start in less than two weeks, team is gearing up with excitement and energy!  Diving into attachment testing and mission strategy, High Blockers are ready to hit the ground running. 

Birthday Girl: Reina

Reina is turning 10! Team is celebrating Reina's birthday with a special snack time!
